Have you ever wanted to change your brown eyes to something else like, blue or green. Well, now you can with surgeries like NewColorIris and BrightOcular. They both put colored implants under the iris to achieve the color you desire.
NewColorIris is a Panamanian based procedure invented in 2002. The procedure is around $7500. Numerous reports have come up, explaining multiple “side effects”; Like, vision problems, headaches, glaucoma, and even blindness. They do not have a helpful website or Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/pages/New-Color-Iris-Change-Eye-ColorChange-Eye-ColourChanging-Eye-Color/21931347688
Proceed with caution..
BrightOcular is American and invented in 2010. Their Facebook page shows videos of people who have had the surgery 2-15 months prior. No reports of any health problems as of yet.
Here’s a picture of some before and afters of the NewColorIris procedure:
Our opinion? The eyes look fake after either procedure, kind of like the people have cataracts.. If you want different colored eyes, stick to colored contacts. They’re cheaper, safer, more realistic and probably a lot more comfortable. Plus, if you don’t like the look, you can throw them out and get another pair. And you only lost around $60!
(only, you should throw out your colored contacts every 2 weeks anyways..)
Brand new at Gafas: a whole rainbow selection of frames. With bold hues and touching textures, you will want to try on the latest in acetate eyewear by Masunaga Optical. Two-toned, tortoiseshell or a fade to translucence… drop by Gafas to check out the our latest Masunaga collection and we’ll be sure to brighten your day!
